You will need
Rice – 300 g
Ghee- 30 g
Milk – 5 litres
Green cardamoms ( powdered )- 5
Fresh coconut – 50 g
Bay leaves – 4
Sultanas – 15 g
Cashew nuts – 15 g
Sugar – 200 g
Method
1, Do not wash the rice . Clean it as well as possible with a dry cloth.
2, Melt ghee into rice and keep aside.
3, Place milk in a heavy- bottomed pan with all the ingredients except sugar and bring to boil over high heat.
4, Mix in rice and bring to boil again. Stirring constantly.
5, Lower the heat and simmer , stirring frequently till the rice is fluffy and the milk thickens.
6, Add sugar and continue cooking till it reaches a medium- thick porridge- like consistency.
7, Remove from the heat, cool and chill.
