Onion Lachha Salad for Tandoori Dishes

You will need
1 onion, finely sliced into rings
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon jeera ( cumin seeds ) powder
1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
1 cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder ( or to taste )
1/4 teaspoon salt ( or to taste )

2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
1 cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced

Method
Mix the onion with salt and leave in a colander or sieve to drain for 10 minutes.
Rinse under cold water, then drain and put in a bowl.
Add cumin and red chilli powder to the onion and mix well.

Arrange the tomato slices on a plate and top with a layer of cucumber, then onion lachhas ( onion rings ).
Sprinkle with the lemon juice and season with salt and black pepper powder to taste.
