Batata Gojju / Kook Chirdille



Batata Gojju / Kook Chirdille

An easy & tasty side dish with rice in Konkani cuisine !!!

Serves: 3

You will need

2 medium size potatoes (boiled and mashed)

100 ml curd, blend well

½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)

For seasoning:

2 teaspoon oil

½ teaspoon mustard seeds

½ teaspoon jeera (cumin seeds)

6 curry leaves

1 green chilli, finely chopped

2 pinches hing (asafoetida)

Method

In a wide bowl (or serving bowl), mix boiled and mashed potatoes, salt to taste and blended curd.

For seasoning:

Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. When they crackle, add jeera, curry leaves, chopped green chilli and hing. Saute on a low heat for 2 – 3 minutes until fragrant and crisp. Switch off the heat. Pour the seasoning over batata gojju / kook chirdille and serve with rice.
