Chinese Style Prawns
A delicious prawns dish, goes well with Fried rice / Noodles
…!!! No added food color and Ajinomoto (msg) !!
Serves: 2 – 3
Ingredients
1 tablespoon oil
1 onion, cubed and separate each layer
10 cloves garlic, chopped
1 capsicum, remove seeds and cut into cubes
For the sauce:
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 ½ tablespoon red chilli sauce
1 ½ tablespoon tomato ketchup
300 g prawns (net weight after cleaning), cleaned and
deveined
Method
In a small bowl, mix all the sauce and keep aside.
Clean and devein prawns. Wash well and drain out water
thoroughly. Marinate prawns with ½ teaspoon turmeric powder and ½ teaspoon
salt. Cover and keep aside for half an hour.
Heat oil in a pan. Add cubed onion and fry until light pink
color. Add chopped garlic and fry till color lightly changes.
Add capsicum and fry for 2 – 3 minutes until softens.
Add sauce and mix well. Do not add water when cooking. Cover with a lid and cook on a low heat for 2 –
3 minutes. When the sauce boils nicely, add marinated prawns. Cover again cook
on a low heat for 5 – 7 minutes until done / prawns well cooked and pink in color. Serve hot with noodles / fried rice …
