Snowball Cookies (Delicious sugar coated cookies for Merry Christmas !!! Easy recipe !!)
Makes: 24 cookies
Ingredients
Please use same measuring cup to measure flour, sugar,
unsalted butter, cashew nuts and milk.
1 cup / 200 ml all
purpose flour (maida) Indian standard measuring cup of 200 ml / 8 oz capacity
¾ cup chopped cashew nuts
¼ cup sugar
¼ cup unsalted butter (soft butter @ room temperature)
¼ cup milk / 5 - 6 tablespoon
lightly warm milk
1 teaspoon butter (to grease baking tray)
1/2 cup / 75 g powdered sugar
(to coat cookies)
Method
In a wide bowl, mix all purpose flour with chopped cashew
nuts, sugar and unsalted soft butter. Mix well until all the ingredients well
combined.
Sprinkle 3 - 6 tablespoon milk (first start with 3 tablespoon and later adjust with remaining milk to make a soft dough) and make a soft dough like chapatti
dough.
Preheat oven (OTG) at 325 *F or 170 *C (very moderate).
Grease a baking dish / tray with 1 teaspoon butter and keep aside.
Knead the dough again and make 24 small balls. Make perfect
balls and arrange on a greased baking tray.
Leave enough space (1
- inch) between each ball and bake for
25 - 30minutes in 2 batches (bake 12 cookies at a time – depending upon the
size of the baking tray) or until they turn light golden in color.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle powdered sugar and coat
well nicely when the cookies are hot. Then it will evenly coat well. Use a tablespoon to coat powdered sugar.
Keep aside to cool for 20 minutes and store in an airtight container.
