Mushrooms in black pepper sauce ( Master chef TV show recipe )

Serves: 2

You will need

12 mushrooms
3 tablespoon corn flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper powder
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
Oil for deep frying (150 ml )

For black pepper sauce:

2 teaspoon oil
1/4 teaspoon crushed black pepper
3/4 teaspoon red chilli paste
1 teaspoon garlic, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1/2 piece each green, yellow and red bell pepper, cut into 1/4 - inch pieces
2 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon corn flour ( dilute corn flour in 2 teaspoon water )
Salt and sugar to taste ( or 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon sugar )
1/2 cup ( 50 ml ) vegetable stock
Extra 1/2 teaspoon crushed black pepper

Method

For Mushrooms:

Clean mushrooms and remove stalk.

Apply with 3 tablespoon corn flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper powder and 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce.

Heat oil in a frying pan and deep fry mushroom. Do not reduce the heat to medium or low. Keep aside.

For black pepper sauce:

In another frying pan, heat 2 teaspoon oil. Add 1/4 teaspoon crushed pepper and red chilli paste. Saute for 2 minutes on a low heat.

Add chopped garlic. Fry for 2 minutes.

Add onion and fry for 2 - 3 minutes.

Add chopped bell peppers. Fry for 5 minutes.

Add vegetable stock, soy sauce, salt and sugar to taste, diluted corn flour and fried mushrooms. Mix all the ingredients well. Sprinkle extra crushed pepper. Cook till the gravy thickens and dark in color. Serve with noodles or fried rice.
