Mushroom Pepper Fry

A tasty side dish / dry curry with rotis / pulao / rice… A quick preparation of mushroom !!!

Serves: 2

1 tablespoon oil

1 onion  (1 big size or 2 small size), finely sliced and separate each layer

6 garlic cloves, finely sliced

½ teaspoon red chilli powder
½ teaspoon coriander powder
½ teaspoon pepper powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder

6 curry leaves

200 g mushroom

½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)

Dilute red chilli powder,  coriander powder, pepper powder and turmeric powder in 2 tablespoon water. Keep aside this spice mix.

Wash and clean mushroom gently. Drain out water . Wipe each mushroom with a soft kitchen. Cut into desired shape and keep aside.

Heat oil in a karahi / pan. Add sliced onion and fry on a low heat until golden color.

Add sliced garlic and fry till crisp. Reduce the heat to low.

Add  diluted spice mix and stir well 2 minutes until the water dries up / raw smell goes / well combined with other ingredients.

Add curry leaves and stir well.

Add mushroom and salt to taste. Do not add water when cooking. Mix all the ingredients well. Cover with a lid and cook on a medium heat for 7 minutes (mushroom will cook very fast) / until done / well cooked.

Now the mushroom contains 2 – 3 tablespoons gravy. Open the lid and stir continuously for  another  5 minutes until the water / gravy dries up / dry in consistency. Serve hot as a side dish with rotis / rice / pulao / brown bread.
