Quick Paneer Curry
A tasty paneer curry, made of onion, capsicum and tomato.
Goes well with rotis / pulao / ghee rice / rice … Homestyle recipe !!!
Serves: 2 - 3
Ingredients
1 tablespoon oil
1 onion, cubed (separate each layer)
1 well ripe tomato, cubed
1 capsicum, remove seeds and cubed
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 cup (200 ml) water
¾ teaspoon salt (or
to taste)
200 g paneer (cottage cheese), cut into desired shape and size
1 tablespoon thick fresh cream (or 3 teaspoon)
1 teaspoon chopped coriander leaves
Method
Dilute red chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric
powder in 2 tablespoon water. Keep it ready (spice mix).
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan / kadai. Add cubed onion and fry till pink color on a
medium heat.
Add tomato and capsicum. Gently fry for 2 minutes.
Add diluted spice mix and stir on a low heat for 2 – 3 minutes
until the raw smell goes.
Add 1 cup (200 ml)
water and salt to taste. Cover with a tight lid and cook on a medium heat for 5 – 8 minutes . When the gravy starts
boiling nicely, add paneer pieces and
mix well. Cover with a lid and cook again for another 5 -7 minutes until done /
paneer well cooked.
Open the lid and check the texture of the paneer. If it is
sponge in texture, switch off the heat. Finally, add 1 tablespoon fresh cream (do not boil again). Mix well.
Sprinkle chopped coriander and consume immediately with rotis / pulao / rice.
