Patta Gobi Ki Subzi or Stir fried cabbage with onions. A
tasty & simple side dish with rotis
/ rice !!
Serves: 2
Ingredients
1 tablespoon oil
1 onion, finely sliced
½ to 3/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
2 cups / 400 ml shredded cabbage (Please measure in Indian
standard measuring cup of 200 ml / 8 oz capacity) or 10 – 12 cabbage leaves,
pick tender leaves and remove thick vein
½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
Method
Heat oil in a non stick pan on medium heat. Add sliced onion
and fry till golden color.
Add red chilli powder and turmeric powder. Stir well on a
low heat for 2 minutes.
Add shredded cabbage and salt to taste (if using non stick
cookware, do not add water for cooking or sprinkle 1 tablespoon water). Mix all the ingredients well. Cover with a lid
and cook on a low heat for 10 minutes until done / water dries up / cabbage well blended with onion and spices. Serve as a
side dish with rotis / rice.
