Vettila Chellam
Vettilachellam is a brass carry case, primary used by those
habituated to chewing betel leaves. These were used to store / carry leaves and
other accessories (arecanut, lime, tobacco, etc). There are many varieties of
vettilachellam, some with very ornate,fine design work.
These are not at all seen now a days and exist only in
antique shops and in traditional houses.
