Dal Lasuni ( Dal with Garlic )

Dal Lasuni


Masoor dal: 100 gms
Water - 2 cups
Oil - 2 teaspoon

Garlic: 10 gms. chopped

Tomato: 1, chopped

Onion: 1 
, chopped

Red chilli powder: 2 teaspoon

Turmeric powder: a pinch 

Coriander powder: a pinch

Salt: To taste
Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing : 1 teaspoon


Boil the dal with 2 cups water, to it add turmeric and salt.

In a pan, heat oil, add chopped garlic and cook till golden brown.

Add chopped onion and cook till light brown.

Then add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and the tomato and cook till the tomatoes are soft.

Put the mixture into the dal , adjust salt and boil the dal for another ten minutes. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot with Puri / Rice / Roti ...
