Old Fashioned Rice Pudding



Old Fashioned Rice Pudding

Serves: 5

You will need

1 teacup (100 g) boiled and cooled rice

1 breakfast cup (200 g) boiled milk

2 tablespoons sugar (6 teaspoons)

2 eggs

¼ teaspoon nutmeg powder

1 pinch salt

1 tablespoon raisins

½ teaspoon butter (to grease baking dish)

Method

Separate egg yolks and white. Gently beat egg white until stiff froth. Keep aside. Gently beat egg yolks. Keep aside.

Grease a baking dish with ½ teaspoon butter.

Preheat oven (OTG) at 180 * C or 350 * F.

In a wide bowl, mix the rice with the milk, sugar, salt, nutmeg powder, and beaten egg yolks.

Finally, stir in the beaten egg white. Sprinkle raisins.

Pour the mixture into a well greased baking dish and bake at 180 * C or 350 * F for 30 – 35 minutes or until the mixture leaves from the sides of the pan and golden color. Keep aside to cool for 15 minutes and serve.
