Besan Ki Kadhi

Besan Ki Kadhi

Recipe Credit - Vimla Patil ( Author - Dal Roti )

Serves: 2


1/2 cup besan ( gram flour )
1 cup curd
2 cups water
1 tablespoon oil
3 red chillies
3 green chillies
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds ( methi )
2 pinches hing ( asafoetida )
1 spring curry leaves
1 teaspoon chopped ginger
4 cloves
1 tablespoon jaggery
1 tablespoon coriander leaves, chopped
Salt to taste


Sieve and mix besan with curd and water. Beat with a mixer so that no lumps form.

Heat oil and add mustard sees, cumin seeds, asafoetida, methi, cloves, red chillies and curry leaves. Brown just enough to pop seeds and pour over kadhi.

Boil it, adding chopped green chillies, ginger, jaggery, salt and coriander leaves. Cook till all the ingredients well blended and slightly thickens. Serve with rice.
