Cheese Crackers - A delicious snack, made of grated cheese,
flour, butter and spices !!
Makes: 30 crackers
Ingredients
200 ml / 1 cup flour (all purpose flour / maida) Indian
standard measuring cup of 200 ml / 8 oz capacity
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper powder
¼ teaspoon red chilli powder
2 cheese cube, grated
45 g cold butter
Ice cold water to mix the dough (2 tablespoon )
1 teaspoon oil (to grease baking tray)
Method
Grease a baking dish with 1 teaspoon oil.
Sieve twice flour, salt, red chilli powder and pepper powder
(if you need plain cracker, avoid red
chilli powder and pepper powder). Rub in butter, mix grated cheese and mix until it form like soft breadcrumbs. Gently mix with fingertips. Do not give more
pressure. Later sprinkle 2 tablespoon
water and knead into a soft dough.
Cover and keep in the refrigerator for one hour.
Roll the dough into
1/8 – inch thickness rectangle (slightly thicker than normal roti / chapatti).
Cut into desired shape and size or use biscuit / cookie cutter and make different
shape.
Arrange these crackers
in a greased baking tray.
Preheat oven (OTG) at 200 * C or 400* F (moderately hot) and
bake for 15 - 20 minutes (2 batches - depending upon the size of the baking tray) or until crisp and golden color. Serve as a snack.
