Carrot Kheer / Carrot Payasam

Carrot Kheer / Carrot Payasam – A delicious sweet, made of grated carrots, milk, sugar and Milkmaid sweetened condensed milk !!

Serves: 3 – 4 small serving bowls


2 carrots, wash and grate finely

1 cup / 200 ml / 8 oz (Indian standard measuring cup) boiled milk

2 tablespoon sugar

2 tablespoon condensed milk


In a bowl or saucepan, boil grated carrot with milk. Cover with a lid and cook on a medium to low heat for 10 minutes (until it almost cooked). Grated carrot won’t take much to cook.

Add 2 tablespoon sugar. Mix well. Cover again and boil  for 10 minutes.

Now add 2 level  tablespoon  milkmaid  sweetened  condensed milk and boil again on a  low heat for another 5 minutes. Switch off the heat. Serve warm or cool.
