30 g butter
½ cup sugar, measure sugar first and then make a powder in a small mixer bowl
1 cup / 200 ml / 8 oz plain flour (maida)
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
2 tablespoon corn flakes, make a fine powder in a small mixer (optional)
In a wide bowl, cream butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy with the help of an electric beater.
Add egg and beat again until smooth and creamy.
Add vanilla essence and sieved flour.
Knead into a dough and roll into balls 11 - 12 balls. Do not add water when making dough.
Roll each ball over corn flakes powder until well coated (optional).
Preheat oven ( OTG ) at 170 * C or 325 * F ( very moderate ).
Grease baking tray with 1/2 teaspoon butter.
Arrange balls on a greased baking tray and keeping a distance of 3 cm between the balls.
Bake in a moderately slow oven at 325 * F or 170 * C for 22 - 25 minutes (until color changes).
Remove from the baking tray and keep aside to cool for one hour. Store it in an airtight container.
