Sausage Fried Rice

Sausage Fried Rice

Serves: 2 - 3


For Fried Rice:

2 tablespoon oil

1 onion, finely chopped or 1 bunch spring onion, finely chopped

6 cloves garlic, finely chopped

1 - 2 teaspoon soy sauce

1 capsicum, cut into small cubes

5 sausages, cut into 1/8 - inch roundels

2 cups ( 400 g ) cooked and cooled rice ( rice should not be overcooked )

1/2 teaspoon salt ( or to taste )

1/2 teaspoon pepper powder ( optional )


For sausage:

Cut sausage into thin slices (or cut into desired shape) and keep aside.

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a wok / frying pan. Reduce heat to medium, add sliced sausages and shallow fry till soft and light brown color.

For Fried Rice:

In another pan / wok, heat remaining 1 tablespoon oil. Add chopped onions / spring onions and fry till pink in color and fragrant.

Add chopped garlic and fry for 3 - 4 minutes.

Add capsicum pieces and fry for 3 minutes.

Add shallow fried sausages and stir well.

Add cooked and cooled rice, soy sauce and salt to taste. Mix well. Do not cover with lid. Stir continuously and fry for 5 minutes on a low heat until rice and sausages are well mixed with all the ingredients.

Sprinkle pepper powder if you required and serve with any gravy dishes of your choice.
