Chicken in Maggi Kicap Rempah ( My husband brought Maggi Kicap Rempah packet from Kuala Lumpur )
A very tasty curry goes well with Noodles / Fried Rice and Rotis !!!!
Serves: 3 - 4
You will need
500 g chicken, cut into medium size pieces
1 tablespoon oil
1 bunch spring onion or 2 onions, finely chopped
6 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 - inch piece ginger, chopped
1 teaspoon thick tamarind paste / 3 teaspoon tamarind juice ( optional )
100 ml water ( 1/2 cup )
1 packet ( 70 g ) Maggi Kicap Rempah
1 tablespoon oil
1 bunch spring onion or 2 onions, finely chopped
6 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 - inch piece ginger, chopped
1 teaspoon thick tamarind paste / 3 teaspoon tamarind juice ( optional )
100 ml water ( 1/2 cup )
1 packet ( 70 g ) Maggi Kicap Rempah
Method
Wash and clean chicken pieces. Drain out water thoroughly.
In a wok / kadai / frying pan, heat oil. Add finely sliced spring onions or onions and fry till light golden color.
Add chopped garlic and ginger. Saute for 2 - 3 minutes.
Add Maggi Kicap Rempah and 1 cup ( 100 ml ) water and bring to boil.
Add chicken pieces and 1 teaspoon tamarind paste or juice ( optional ). Cover with a lid and cook on a medium heat for 30 - 35 minutes or until done and gravy thickens.
Serve hot with Noodles / Fried Rice / Rotis ...
